A fellowship of Churches which confess Christ as Lord and seek to fulfil
together their common calling to serve Christ and to witness to His saving
power.
The area covered includes Central Christchurch, Jumpers, Somerford, Burton
and Mudeford. There is also a separate group covering Highcliffe and
Walkford Churches.
Each church is entitled to be represented by 2/3 persons, one of whom would
normally be the minister or lay leader. Meetings are held 6times a
year (bi-monthly). Churches are kept in touch by the representatives
reporting back to their fellowships. "News from the Churches" is
usually included in the agenda.
The fellowship seeks to strengthen and encourage each church in their work
and witness for Christ in the following ways:
-
The regular bi-monthly form meetings.
-
The regular monthly prayer meeting.
-
Fellowship Suppers.
-
United services held in each of our churches in rotation.
-
Net-working/sharing information about church and community projects.
-
To unite from time to time in special events/projects to communicate the
Good News of the Gospel in our community.
In all this we respect each others emphasis/differences but seek to
celebrate together and to represent in our community, those basics of the
Gospel that unite us, recognising that such fellowship is only possible by
the work of God's Holy Spirit.
