Baptism
 |
A programme of three evening sessions is undertaken by parents
prior to the baptism of their children. Courses run at approximately four
monthly intervals. Volunteers to join the team are always welcome;
experienced of parenthood and common sense are the only pre-requisites.

Charismatic Prayer Group
 |
The group meets every Tuesday at 8 p.m. in St. Catherine's
room. All are welcome, including members of other denominations.

Church Cleaners
 |
The church linen and brassware are cared for by a very small
team. In addition teams of four clean the church in weekly rotation.
The time taken is approximately 2 to 3 hours every 4 weeks but illness and age
can take their toll and it would be good to have more hands to lighten the load.

Coffee Beans
 |
Coffee Beans is a cafè style meeting place in the centre of
Bransgore. It is run cooperatively by volunteers from the Catholic,
Anglican, Methodist and Christian fellowship communities in the village. A
varied menu is available, as well as Fairtrade and Tradecraft items which are on
sale.

Confirmation
 |
Secondary children of year 8 and above are prepared for the
Sacrament of Confirmation. In each programme, a day is spent in retreat
and meetings with catechists continue over a period of months. The
catechists endeavour to ensure the young people understand the serious
commitment involved in this sacrament.

Coffee and Tea
 |
Coffee and tea are offered after the Sunday masses in St.
Catherine's Room. There is a rota of helpers to provide this service but
more would help to spread the load.

Eucharistic Adoration
 |
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament takes place each Friday
between 9.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. A rota of parishioners ensures that there
is always at least one person keeping watch with Our Lord during that time.

Eucharistic Ministry
 |
Parishioners who are invited by the parish priest, undertake
the ministry. A course of training is followed prior to commissioning by
the Dean for a period of three years. Each year a special minister is
expected to attend a day of recollection.

Faith Sharing
 |
An opportunity for all who wish to deepen their
understanding and spiritual commitment to share with others of like mind.
We can travel together on our faith journey.

Finance Committee
 |
The finance committee plays an advisory role; it helps the
parish priest maintain the financial records especially with regard to Gift
Aid. It also helps with the preparation of annual accounts and their
presentation and explanation to the parish. A further task is counting
collections.

First Holy Communion
 |
Responsibility for the preparation of children for their First
Holy Communion rests with the parents and the parish supported by the
school. The course normally runs from October - June. The children
come together as a group, for lessons and celebrations in the church on Saturday
mornings under the guidance of a small group of catechists.

Flower Arrangers
 |
There is a small band of devoted flower arrangers who would
welcome people to join them. Expertise is not necessary as guidance will
be given if necessary.

Gardeners
 |
The gardens around the church and presbytery are often
admired but they do require regular maintenance. It is a rewarding task
and does not require a great deal of time.

 |
Informations Ministry
 |
A group of people who attend to church notice boards, update
the website, information for new parishioners and weekly newsletters.

Lumen Christi Youth Prayer Group
 |
The group meets on a Friday evening at 8 p.m. in the
old church. The age group is from 11 - 18.

Marriage Preparation
 |
Pre Marriage Preparation is a Deanery based course designed
for all couples who intend to marry within the Catholic Church. Led by a
group of married lay people, a group of engaged couples meet to discuss many
topics concerning marriage today with the emphasis placed on Christian
marriage. There are 2 or 3 courses a year of one day a week for 4 weeks.

RCIA
 |
A programme for those enquiring into the Catholic faith.
For those who wish it leads to preparation for reception as members of the
church. Support of the members of the parish is warmly welcomed.

Reading Ministry
 |
The reading ministry is made up of members who offer their
services. More members would be welcome with the only prerequisites being
a clear speaking voice and a willingness to prepare carefully and prayerfully
for the readings beforehand. Readers are expected to attend a day of
recollection and an evening of instruction once a year.

Repository
 |
There is a good selection of items and cards for most
occasions. We are open to suggestions for items you would like to kept in
stock.

The repository is open after each mass on Sundays, other times
can be arranged if there is a special need.
|

Servers
 |
Boys and Girls who have made their First Holy Communion are
eligible to join the band of servers on the alter. Instruction will be
given.

Saint Vincent De Paul
 |
Frederick Ozanam founded the society in
1833 when challenged to prove the practical value of his Christian
beliefs. Its aim is to provide a means whereby members show love and
compassion for their neighbour by giving their friendship, time and talents to
help those in need.

Support Group
 |
The support group was established in 1990 to give support to
those in a grieving situation: death, divorce, abuse, redundancy, and so
on. Anyone in need is visited by a team member and where necessary,
regular visits are arranged on a one to one basis. All are welcome, the
more volunteers, the more help can be offered.

Special Services Ministry
 |
As a result of our lentern mission in 2001 a small group of
people who can organise liturgies for special occasions during the year.
|

Teams of Our Lady
 |
Teams of Our Lady are part of a world-wide organisation.
A team of married couples (4-6 couples per team) come together once a month in
each others home to share a simple meal, our news and the Word of God. We
pray together, discuss different topics and offer each other friendship and
support. The aim is to help each other grow closer to God and closer
together as married couples.
